Guilherme Marinheiro is a writer, actor, theater director and mask creator. From Brazil, half Portuguese, he lives since 2016 in Bern, Switzerland.

From 2003 until 2006 he studied Acting at the Artistic Training Center "Cefart / Palácio das Artes" and Communication (Publicity) at the University "Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais – PUC-MG", both at Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. In his graduation performances Guilherme had his first contact with the fascinating language of masks and gestural theater.

In 2006 he founded a theater group called "Grupo Tronco", together with the actor and director Leonardo Bertholini.

In 2009 the group moved to São Paulo and Guilherme Marinheiro deepened his studies in dramaturgy.

In 2016 he moved to Bern for a master course in "Expanded Theater" at HKB (Hochschule der Künste Bern – Berner Fachhochschule BFH). Since then he is developing researches with masks and gestural theater. In 2017 he did a workshop of balinese masks (The Actor Puppet and his Manipulator) with Serge Nicolaï (Théâtre du Soleil) in Verscio (Dimitri School), as part of the master program.

In 2020 and 2021, during the pandemic, Guilherme has created his first wooden mask of a Smiling Man in an intuitive way, without a previous learning. Until then he knew only the "papier mache" technique, which he learned in his graduation. The mask of the Smiling Man was the inspiration to write the dramaturgy of "Be-long Story". Besides the dramaturgy Guilherme directed, performed and has created the soundtracks, masks and puppets for the performance. "Be-long Story" had its premiere in December of 2024 in Schlachthaus Theater, sponsored by Kultur Stadt Bern.
